Let your certainty match your doubt, overcome your fears, and become a factor of your future.

A common saying goes “if there’s a will there’s a way”. Anyone with ambition or desire to succeed has eyes of certainty, a hopeful outlook for the future, and an eye for success.
The past week was largely dedicated to research presentations which culminated all of the research conducted over the past several weeks. Personally, this year’s presentation was much more successful than many previous presentations. Despite my usual issue of talking really fast, my confidence levels were much higher being an ISM 2 student. The flow of the presentation was much better and it felt as if it had much more to it than simply spewing out information which was the broad base of last year’s research presentation. As we all approach upcoming milestones, it was important to set this first one straight by professing the best version of ourselves.
In addition, I had another mentor visit last week which consisted of watching a simple tethered cord surgery. Unfortunately, my mentor was not in office so Dr. Swift took over for the day by teaching me throughout the surgery. Dr. Swift walked me through the cutting of the filum terminale which releases the spinal cord ensuring that there is no further neurological disorders that develop as a result of tethered cord. The procedure is fairly simple and is seen in several young children.
Overall, the past couple of weeks have been purely dedicated towards research and mentor visits. As we progress towards the holiday seasons, it is important that we take advantage of the time to get started on the original work process through research.
