“Patience, persistence and perspiration make an unbeatable combination for success” - Napoleon Hill.

Weekly Report 03/12/2018 to 03/18/2018

“Patience, persistence and perspiration make an unbeatable combination for success” - Napoleon Hill. Patience has been biggest factor for the last couple of weeks due to the longevity of the observer application process. The process has been extensive due to the wait between each step of the application. With the week before last being dedicated towards gathering all the health forms, this past week has been geared towards the forms concerning the protocol at Children’s. This included reading the code of conduct and understanding the details of what the responsibilities are of an observer. After reading the information, I was required to take a quiz based on safety measures, hygiene, infection control, etc. With that, it has been a week since the documents have been submitted and all that can really be done right now is wait. After the papers have been processed, the next steps will include getting an ID made and then hopefully the shadowing process will begin.

In addition to that, the work that has been done within the past week towards the final product has been research on the chiari malformation. Prior to Dr. Braga telling me about Chiari, I had no idea that such a condition exists. With that, a lot of time was invested into researching on the condition in order to understand what is currently known about the condition. This essentially provides a basic idea on how to approach the issue of chiari and how to figure out a theoretical cause. The information that has been compiled within the past few weeks will aid in the production of the results from the final product.

With the last few weeks being relatively slow in comparison to the beginning of the year, I hope to see the next few weeks begin to speed up in terms of the work with my mentor. The quality of work is the result I want to see in the end and that will require an immense amount of effort within the last few weeks of this ISM journey.
