Have you ever gone to Starbucks and had someone pay for your drink? While this applies to a plethora of fast food delicacies, it's also a part of life.

Weekly Report 9/30/18 to 10/08/18
“When you learn, teach. When you get, give” Maya Angelou. Human life concerns the idea of paying it forward. We learn for the sole purpose of paying it forward for a greater deed, we make money to build better services, we stop and think possibly to make someone else’s day better. Being an ISM student, we have the opportunity to make changes early on, figure out where our lives are headed and what heights they can reach.
The past week was an opportunity for each of us to get and give. It was wonderful to be able to take our experiences from last year to help out those who have similar aspirations and goals. In a world where everything surrounds competition, even the littlest things like helping someone be one step ahead in their ISM journey, is a step towards paying it forward. It was a unique opportunity this year to be able to converse with other ISM students and ask them why they are here, understand the reasons they chose a specific field, and to see the amount of passion in one room for so many different careers was amazing. It really validated the statement that life is a journey not a competition. We all have our separate journeys, destinations, and hurdles in getting there. Each person’s perspective on this was completely different and it was amazing to see how much you could extract from a short conversation.
In addition, this past week was also the introduction to original work and we essentially learned to be on the lookout for an idea rather than be too set on one specific idea. As the deadline approached for the original work proposal, it is about time that the ideas start formulating in order to execute a well thought out original work. My primary goal this year has been to make both the original work and final product more impactful on a tangible basis
Overall, the whole year has been off to a good start and I am excited to see where the major projects of this year take me. There is a lot to accomplish in a very small time span, but I have hopes of seeing ambitious progression from last year.
